Weekly Ballet Folklorico de Mexico Class ages 4-17 held Fridays at 7:00PM at LB Dance Academy 727 South St. Long Beach CA. Locations and times subject to change with Director's notice. Price for costumes/shoes not included. No experience necessary; most students come from no prior dance experience. Elements of class include:
  • Warm-Up
  • Flexibility Stretching (Splits, Backbends, Full Body)
  • Across the Floor with Skirts (Chaines, Piques)
  • Historical Significance, Character, Appearance of Different Regional Styles (costumes, technique, and attitude to reflect)
  • Choreography: New and Review (taught to different levels)
  • Showmanship (Strong Lines, Execution, Smiles, Performance Attitude, Musicality, Rhythm)
  • Acrobatics/Gymnastics on Mat and Floor (Cartwheels, Handstands, Rolls, Backbends, Kickovers, Walkovers, Two-Person Tricks)
